A Fabulous Drink at Perla's for SXSW
As we gear up for another SXSW festival season I have a little nugget for you. Head to South Congress Avenue on a Saturday afternoon of the music portion. There is free music (and even some free beer) along the Avenue. The San Jose does South by San Jose with shows in Jo's parking lot, behind Home Slice watch shows that have included Joseph Arthur and behind Yard Dog (this is where the free beer is, now you owe me one for this nugget) even more free live music can be enjoyed. For me, no Saturday afternoon is complete without popping into Perla's for their happy hour from 3-6 p.m. and the daily cocktail special. On my most recent visit I sampled a twist on a traditional caiprihina made with muddled lime and mint and Perla's added red pepper. It was fabulous. Now, gear up for SXSW, get down to South Congress and if you spot me at Perla's I'll take you up on that cocktail, that would be fabulous!
