A Fabulous Drink and Sometimes A Girl's Gotta Get Outta Town

A few months back we took a road trip to the Carolinas for Thanksgiving and I only agreed to this on two conditions that we make stops at the beach and we stay in comfort and luxury.  We stopped in both the northwest and northeast corners of Florida in towns that included Watercolor, Florida (where I had a fabulous drink and blogged about it here) and Amelia Island.  The news of this all is there is a new airport in the Florida Panhandle called the Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport and I wrote a story in today's Austin American Statesman's travel section read about it here.

A Fabulous Drink Giveaway Goes to the Ever Fabulous Amber Demure

Congratulations @AmberDemure you are the winner of two tickets to this year's Sunday Fair at the Texas Hill Country Wine and Food Festival celebrating its 25th year.  Amber's fabulous recommendations of Sophia champagne in a can for its portability and Glen Carlou South African red won me over because of its chocolate covered coffee bean notes.  Thanks so much for all who participated and for the fabulous recommendations!

A Fabulous Drink on Austin's Best New Patio El Arbol

When a new restaurant opens I am chomping at the bit to get there, but I am not willing to fully commit and sit down to a full meal right off the bat.  In true Fabulous Drinks Austin style, I like to have a drink at the bar, or in this case, their fabulous patio and soak in the scene, check out the service and eye the plates, here they were all 10s! Just off 35th El Arbol is Austin' s newest kid on the block for dining.  Just as the name implies, the restaurant is built around a tree or should I say there is a huge tree sprouting up in the middle of the outdoor space.  The decor is a dynamic mid century modern design. Here the cuisine is Argentinian, the atmosphere trendy and unique and the drink selection no less than fabulous!
